Common questions
How do I log a workout?
Tap the search field on the Log tab and start typing an exercise name. Select it from the list, enter your weight and reps, and tap Save workout when you're done. That's it.
What are the ghost numbers?
When you add an exercise you've logged before, you'll see light placeholder numbers in the weight and reps fields. These are your top set from last session — a guide so you always know what to beat. Just type over them to log today's numbers.
How do templates work?
After logging a workout, tap "Save as template" and give it a name. Next time, search for it or long press the bottom of the log screen to load it instantly with all your exercises pre-filled.
What does the Today's Workout card show?
After saving a workout, a card appears on the Log tab. Tap it to expand and see full set-by-set detail. The collapsed view highlights any PRs you hit and your most improved exercise from that session.
How do I edit or delete a workout?
In the History tab, tap the pencil icon to edit a workout or the trash icon to delete it. You can add, remove, and reorder exercises and edit individual sets.
What is Notable Progress?
Notable Progress on the Stats tab shows your biggest strength gain across all exercises — the exercise where you've added the most total weight over time. It also acknowledges which muscle group is trending upward.
What is Needs Attention?
Needs Attention flags three things: exercises that have stalled across multiple sessions, muscle groups you may be overtraining and should rest, and muscle groups you haven't trained recently. It updates automatically based on your workout history.
How does muscle group tracking work?
Setnote has 240+ exercises pre-mapped to primary and secondary muscle groups. When you log an exercise, the app already knows which muscles you're training. For any exercise not in the library, tap the muscle group pill on the exercise card to assign it — it only takes a second and the app remembers it from then on.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings by tapping the Setnote logo in the top left, then tap Export data. This generates a CSV file with all your workouts and opens the iOS share sheet so you can save or send it anywhere.
Can I switch between lbs and kg?
Yes. Go to Settings → Units and toggle between lbs and kg. The change applies immediately across the whole app. Your data is always stored internally in lbs and converted for display.
